There was never a rewrite, it was more of an update of the art because he "changed" through time, but in the picture there is already the 3 main protagonist probably, the dragon in human form, Erick and the elf queen. The new character reminds me of Kirist when she was young

Well it was good while it lasted if they ever do the stupiest thing by remaking the whole game art from the scratch, even if they don't go that path and continue with this artstyle then the animation will be the only questionable thing to give it a piece of mind.
But this art looks definitely so bad. even for being a sketch and not a fully painted conceptual art
He said that he didn't consider TOD0 to continue it's story because he didn't like his old art and some parts of the story. TOD0 was supposed to be a different story or at least it was before Asa announced his retirement from the game. At the moment its just a matter of waiting to see if he wants to continue making games or not. I wouldn't be surprise if he created his own universe of characters like fellatrix or crystalcheese to make art from. If he is gonna make games its makes you wonder is there really where problems between him and the coder

Second, this is concept art and lacks polish so it could look better in the future which means Asa might not come back for the next game but will stick around for the current one
Asa old style has been dead for more than a year and a half. He started TOD0 with an anime-ish like style that focused on bright colors and cute faces, I would say that you could see the changes since Mikiko quest line started, his once anime style like art started to be influenced by western culture ( Asa is a fan of guys like fellatrix and Crystalcheese after all). He added more sharp lines in characters faces, he started to give more attention to character bodies, enviroment in CG scenes and lightning of said enviroments. Needlessly to say I quite enjoy his new artstyle and if he start his own vision Of Tail Of Desire I will follow the proyect for sure. Sorry about the rant guys hope y'all have a good day.

That is Asa's work, it just that Asa changed his style a lot through time you can search his Fanbox and their latest works have the same style. He still works in the game but no longer as the head, he is still the one in charge of art but the story, characters and all of that will be from the programmer if I remember correctly
I wish he could have exposed their huge breasts and vagina on his new character design just like his old character Polina and kirist
